Energise yourself: At this time of year you may feel a bit burnt out – and it’s little wonder with December being the busiest month of the calendar.
It’s in December that we take on more of everything – more clients to start the
new year on the right foot, more client work as they pack up to go on holidays, more work for yourself as you try and wrap up the year that was, and more at home too with Christmas preparation, shopping, food, plus end-of-year school terms, kids parties and wrap-ups … Gosh, it’s no wonder you’re feeling drained and stressed!
So let’s stop and take a breath for a moment to energise yourself. It’s extremely important at this time of year that you take some time for yourself and schedule some me-time over the Christmas break.
You also need to kick your heels up and celebrate another year and look at the things you did this year!
Congratulations you visionary woman – you should be so proud of yourself! In this blog, let’s look at how you can stress less, energise yourself and start 2022 with the right mindset.
Energise yourself: You like to party!
Before the new business year sets in, make sure you have your end-of-year parties scheduled and make sure you have organised a team get together, even if it is online.
There’s nothing like catching up with friends at this time of year.
Party for one!
Once you’re done partying with your friends and celebrating the end of the year, it’s time to organise some me-time to energise yourself.
Dedicated me-time is important for you to release your stress and just be with yourself, for yourself.
If this hasn’t been a priority for you this year, make it one for next year with regularly scheduled me-time activities and time in your calendar for you, even if you do nothing at all, this time is all about you and yourself!
Me-time activities just for you:
- A walk in nature
- Swimming at the beach
- Yoga, Pilates or some other exercise you enjoy
- Cooking and baking
- Shopping
- Coffee and cake for one
- Reading
- Watching a movie or some mindless TV
- Meditation
- Journaling and writing
- And anything else that makes you happy
Reflect on your life in general
While you are spending some time with yourself, it can be beneficial to do some reflection. Now I know we have covered this in depth in a previous blog (read it here), however, you can do some smaller personal reflection exercises to energise yourself.
You can start with these three questions and see where it leads:
- What have you learned this year?
- How do you think you have grown this past year?
- What would you like your next 12 months to look like?
Outsource the mundane day-to-day tasks ASAP!
By now you should be feeling pretty energised and ready to tackle the new year.
If you still have some concerns about how you will get everything done, I’ve got one more hot tip for you – and that is to outsource and delegate as much as you can.
Here are my top five areas to outsource immediately if you want to go into 2022 with a growth mindset:
- Your email inbox
- Your bookkeeping and accounting
- Your daily and weekly marketing activities
- Your social media management
- Your customer and client service and nurturing
