I want to ask you a question … how do you feel about your inbox right now?

Happy because it’s organised, outsourced and well-structured? You have automation in place to send emails and you reply with ease and follow-up easily with people interested in working with you.

Unhappy because it’s cluttered, unorganized and with stuff everywhere. You don’t even want to go into your inbox most days because it’s such a mess. You don’t have an organised system or process for your inbox or how to make it work for you.

I want to share two main ways you can get back 10 hours a week when it comes to your email inbox.

  1. Outsource it – one of the best things you can do as a business owner is to outsource your inbox and have someone like a VA or team member manage this for you. Not only will this save more time than 10 hours a week, it will free you up to focus on getting more leads and clients. Having someone focus on your inbox for you means it will be more organised and structured so it is not so overwhelming or cluttered. However, if this is not an option for you right now, there is another option.
  2. Organise your inbox and emails yourself – and you can do this easily with my free Inbox Organisation Checklist. Here are the areas you need to follow:

System – Email platform

Look at the platform you have your email running through right now. Is it serving you, what is it costing you, is it easy to use?

Structure of emails

How do you have your emails set up, do you have folders, is everything organised and easy to find and respond to? Do you have draft emails for regular inquiries or tasks for team and clients? Can you schedule emails to respond to people or send emails so they are automated and you don’t have to do it?

Process – Inbox management

Do you have a process for your inbox management, do you have a process to check your emails, reply to emails or even to follow up with people?

These are important factors you need to address for a successful business.


Whichever option you choose it will be a step in the right direction. Time is the component that will help you decide. If you don’t have time, outsource it. If you do have time, follow the steps in my checklist and get on to it now.
