Getting the right team on board can be exciting and rewarding.

When amazing minds, with drive and ambition, work together for you, incredible things can happen.

And that’s the exciting part. Team members who work best are often the ones who can showcase their strengths.

Then you, your business and your team will be unstoppable!

If business growth is your goal this year, it’s inevitable that you will need to scale with a team – even if it is just a PA or VA to help with some tasks or a list of contractors to help with various different jobs.

But it can also be tricky because finding the right people for right job takes time and dedication. It takes patience and practice (and due diligence!).

So if it’s time for you to grow your business, I’ve got some hot tips.

3 tips to finding the right team members:

  1. Start the process early to find the perfect match. Give yourself enough time so you don’t feel rushed. There is only one bigger mistake than the previous one mentioned and that is hiring out of fear.
  2. Have a test and trial period/probation to see if you’re the perfect match.
  3. Understand and know who you want to bring onboard: personality, project, scope of work, working hours and so on. And do your due diligence on your candidates.

“To be the best place to buy you must be the best place to work. Treat your employees the way you want your customers to be treated, maybe even better.”

While getting the right team is one of the most rewarding aspects of business, it can also be one of the biggest issues you face too.

So how do you do go about attracting and keeping the right team members?

To give you the best chance at getting a great team onboard, follow these 8 steps.

  1. Set up your recruitment and onboarding system. Make it easy for them and you.
  2. Set your expectations right at the beginning then there can be no confusion. This is extremely important.
  3. Share your vision with each member of your team, even your contractors. They must know what you are working towards.
  4. Check in regularly to make sure they are OK with their workload and to make sure they feel supported by you as their leader.
  5. Communicate regularly and have a messenger channel that you use like Slack.
  6. Encourage them the share ideas and praise them for creativity.
  7. Empower and motivate them. Share events, trainings and information that will help them grow.
  8. Be sure to celebrate their wins and successes, especially where they have taken initiative.

Having a team that supports you will help you win back your precious time.

Time is not elusive, but so many people want more of it and feel guilty trying to find a balance between their business and income, and their family and loved ones.

It’s time to save time – with a team.
