The festive season is the best time to review your business systems with my proven process.

I’d like to introduce you to the REAVA business systems review methodology.

I use the REAVA method in my own business and in my client’s businesses too – and it works because it is simple and easy to implement.

THE REAVA method:

Review

Monitor and evaluate your company’s operations, systems and processes to create a sustainable and profitable business. The key here is to REVIEW the work you are already doing and how it was getting done to see what could be improved.
A business systems review should be carried out on a regular basis so you can understand what changes need to be implemented, when they need to be done, and in which section of your business.

Reviewing your business allows you to build efficient workflows and systems so your business stops taking up so much of your time, energy and money.

MY BEST REVIEW TIP:

Are you the bottleneck in a specific function of the business? If yes, then you can start here. Next, check your current procedures and update where necessary. Remember to involve your team so you can resolve any issues they have together to increase productivity and efficiency.

Evaluate and Plan
After you have given your business systems a full review, now it’s time to EVALUATE AND PLAN the systems and processes you want to update or implement. This step helps you better understand the needs of your business, team, and customers, and allows you to formulate a plan to meet your existing long-term and short-term goals.
Evaluating and planning your next steps also helps you monitor and measure your progress as you work towards your goals in the future.

MY BEST EVALUATE AND PLAN TIP:

Make a plan to improve the business and evaluate the scope for improvement. Check your capacity and resources within your team or engage an OBM (like myself) to assist you. What metrics will you use to measure the improvements?

Action
This step is about taking the necessary ACTION to strategically implement your plan.
An actionable plan will help everyone in your business have better-defined roles, with clear responsibilities and specific tasks, while also giving you the proper resources to make improvements operationally.
It is important to remember that you could have the most well-devised plan but, if you do not take action, you will be wasting your time.
Have a business that works like clockwork – and even better, without you (so you can take a holiday or spend time with your family and loved ones).

MY BEST ACTION TIP:

Prioritise your plan. Know which function or department of your business is performing poorly and start there with your implementation.

Vision
Having a clear way forward will help you achieve your VISION quickly. It also means that you are able to see what needs to be done next. A clear and future vision can also give your company a sense of purpose and direction for the future.
With a solid vision for your business, you will be able to define and identify long and short-term goals in a logical way for you.

MY BEST VISION TIP:

When your vision is clear, it drives you and your business. You see new opportunities and possibilities and you will also know what actions you need to take to achieve your goals.

Achieve
When all of the above steps combine, you will ACHIEVE much more in terms of growth for your business. This means your team will grow, your operations will be more efficient, and you will have more opportunities and revenue in your business – plus you will have more time to work on your big dreams and vision.
And you also will start to see a better work-life balance, feeling less stress, anxiety and overwhelm, and more happiness and passion.
