When it comes to being organised in your business this year … It’s the end of January and you are:
- Planned and organised with your trusty action plan in place and you’ve hit the ground running.
- A bit of both, but still have some work to do to get on track.
- You’re still recovering from Christmas and New Year celebrations!
Wherever you are, whether you have got a good start to 2023 or you’re still mapping it out, the best part of a new year and running a business is that you can choose to change how organised it is at any time.
In this blog, you’ll learn the secret sauce to organising your business with these 4 easy steps.
The secret sauce to organising your business is…
The term “secret sauce” isn’t just for McDonald’s Big Mac, it’s come to mean something for every business owner – it’s their secret to success. You’ll have them in your business and generally they are made successful by systems and processes.
McDonald’s secret Big Mac sauce follows a very strict system to make it so it is the same every time. The right ingredients and the right amounts.
I have the “secret sauce” too when it comes to organising your business. It’s my superpower and I want to share it with you.
Organising your business in 4 easy steps
Being organised in business comes down to 4 main factors: Planning, implementing, getting help and upskilling.
1. Get a plan in place
The first part of planning is to review your current issues and the systems and processes associated with them. But go deeper and look into the root cause. It’s important to just not only rectify the surface problem because you will find you still encounter issues in the long run (even though you think you’ve fixed it!). Take a holistic approach to your growth plan and invest in tech and tools to help you streamline your business systems and processes so it’s easier for you.
2. Start working on your future
Next, it’s time to evaluate the tech and tools you’re using and if you need to upgrade or change them. Our businesses grow and evolve and so this is an important step. The problems you’re experiencing may be due to a tech or platform issue that can be solved easily. Once you’re satisfied with your tech, you can start implementing your plan properly.
3. Hire an Online Business Manager (OBM) or a Virtual Assistant (VA) to help you
You may find that as you’re implementing your action plan, all the tasks you need to do start to overwhelm you. That’s where an OBM or VA is going to become your best friend in your business. Delegation is the secret to success. When you hire another person to do the work for you, you will have more time and energy to work on your business and start to work on your big vision. You can finally get to be the visionary you set out to be when you started your business!
4. Upskill and uplevel
What you’re doing in your business right now must align with your future vision and the direction you want to take your business. It’s this step that helps you do that. Learn more about the insights in your business, measure what’s working and what’s not, and streamline from there. Work on bettering your skills and you will soon see your business change. I believe you will only have the time to do this once you have someone to help you.
